Watkins' Trip to Rome and Florence Italy!

Wednesday, the group splits up. Group 1 (Jan calls this group the "cool group"), shown here, goes to the Spanish Steps, Castel Sant'Angelo and the Pantheon and then the group splits up even more and Melody, Steve, Ginny, and Jan go to the Catacombs while Cindy and Cindy go shopping..

Here's group 1 off for some power sight-seeing through ancient Rome.

Here's the missing door that the whole group went through to go to the top of the castle... except Jan who  didn't see it (she was busy taking a picture of it). She thought they left her for a while til they all came back down wondering where she was!

Here's part of group 1 resting at the castle.

Here's Ann Marie leaving the Castle. We think she had a better time than Steve! Notice the man on the left fishing for statues. Looks like he caught one!

Jan and Cindy J. at the Piazza Navona and the famous fountain, Fontana dei Fiumi.

Seems like this group does an awful lot of sitting down!

The famous Pantheon from ancient Rome, almost 2,000 years old! (Built in 125 AD)

2,000 year old  carved and painted wood which looks almost new. Amazing!

An example of the many 2,000 - 3,000 year old writing tablets in the museum.

Over 2,000 years ago this lady lived in Egypt. It almost looks like she's sleeping.

This is one of 4 sides of the inner court of the Vatican museums -all stuffed with priceless artworks. Magnificent!

The head on the bottom is Art's.
